The programs are printed, the signage is in the works - only four days
until the So Cal Linux Expo!

Here's some last minute information for those attending:

CACert will be attending SCALE.

CACert is a free service that allows individuals to get secure
certificates for free. These certificates can be used to secure email
and web servers in the same way that commercial certificates can. The
CACert issued certificates are based on a level of trust not unlike
that of GPG keys. The more people that verify your identity, the large
your web of trust becomes and so the more secure and trusted your
signed certificates are.

CACert will be available at SCALE to verify identities for those
individuals who currently have CACert accounts or who sign up for
CACert prior to arriving at SCALE. Due to the process being time
consuming, support for signing up at the CACert booth will not be
possible. Those individuals who wish to have their identities verified
by CACert staff should remember to bring two government issued forms
of identification with at least one being a photo ID. Examples of
valid id include drivers license, social security card, ham license,
etc. Those who want to sign up for verification in advance can do it
either from CAcert's main website: http://www.CAcert.org or the direct
link to the signup page: https://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=1

To complete the sign up process you must receive an email probe and
open the link contained in it within 48 hrs or the system
automatically cleans up dead accounts.

Radisson hotel parking:

Day use: self $5.00 or valet $7.00.
Overnight rates are $12 self or $15 valet.

IMPORTANT Note: for a discount on your overnight parking, bring your
parking pass with you to the SCALE booth and have it validated.

Radisson hotel dining - The Radisson has the Century Cafe for
breakfast and Lunch, Palmira for dinner, and the Concorde featuring
Starbucks coffee

Communications during the event -

An IRC channel has been registered for the Expo. During the hours of
the event, someone from SCALE will be monitoring #scale-live on
irc.oftc.net. Staff will have badges identifying them as such, and
some will have walkie-talkies. Feel free to corner one of them if you
have questions.

See you at SCALE!
